Default How do I get sealant out of carpet?

I accidentally got some Unibond roof and gutter sealant onto our charcoal grey carpet (only a few weeks after we've had it laid) and understandably, my wife isn't best pleased. I scraped away as much of it as I could, but didn't want to risk trying to get the rest out until I found the proper procedure. By the time anyone reads this, it will probably be fully 'set' (the instructions say 24-36 hours) which might make matters even worse.

Unibond's website describes this product as 'a specially formulated butyl-rubber sealant designed to fill connections and joints in guttering, downpipes and other roofing applications', in case that helps.

I've phoned and emailed the helpline for Henkel, the firm that makes it, but can't get a reply.

I'd be most grateful for any advice. Thanks.
