This is only the public announcement, the targets have been no secret
within the company for some time. There is nothing unusual about this,
Magnox and many foreign utilities have achieved significant life extensions.

I assume the ONR have approved the proposal, it will be dependent on the
results of additional monitoring, maintenance, etc.


Aren't the Heyshams the ones that had cracking in the boiler spine?


As Mike says later, the ONR are no pushover.
