Nothing at all unbelievable about how rabidly bigoted so many like you are. The City of Sanctuary looks well meaning and kind, which is good. I suppose the truth lies somewhere between Harry's and Rod's views. I heard a nice definition of a "loony lefty" the other day. A loony lefty is so "caring" he/she will keep inviting people into the lifeboat until it sinks and they all die. As I said before, compassion, but with an edge. If people start dictating what they want instead of being grateful when offered sanctuary it may be time to throw them out. Just think how you would treat someone who was staying in your house, if they started moaning and demanding special rights. Then extend that to a country / society or whatever. Simon. |

I suppose the truth lies somewhere between Harry's and Rod's views. You don't even know what my view is on that, just what my view is about Harry and his ilk. I heard a nice definition of a "loony lefty" the other day. A loony lefty is so "caring" he/she will keep inviting people into the lifeboat until it sinks and they all die. There isn't even the remotest possibility of everyone dying in the situation being discussed. As I said before, compassion, but with an edge. If people start dictating what they want instead of being grateful when offered sanctuary it may be time to throw them out. But it makes no sense to throw them all out when only a microscopic minority of them are doing any dictating. Just think how you would treat someone who was staying in your house, if they started moaning and demanding special rights. Then extend that to a country / society or whatever. But it makes no sense at all to be kicking out everyone who wants to come when a microscopic minority of those who have been allowed into your country/society dictate anything. It makes sense to tell those who try dictating that if they don't like the way things are done, they should reconsider why they chose to come. I in fact did that in the 70s with the poms that showed up here and proclaimed that we should have the same sort of mindless unions and socialism that they had had in that soggy little frigid island they had chosen to leave. One of the turks happened to show up here just as I was eating an icecream for dessert after finishing my evening meal. The silly kid told me that I shouldn't be holding it in my left hand. He got a right flea in his ear and I told him that we don't wipe our arses with our bare hands here. He wasn't ever silly enough to try that again. |

Fairy nuff. Except that few are so loonie. The right, of course, would want the entire lifeboat for themselves. And not just the loonie ones. -- *Everyone has a photographic memory. The biggest problem would be if you have a 10 'man' lifeboat how many 'men' to you take in it. |
