Well, that was not expected
Gas board have had the entire street dug up laying a replacement gas
main, to replace the original one which is rusting and leaking. They have been causing chaos for a couple of weeks now and expect to be still at it after Christmas. They are running the new main first, then running the pipes up the drive last. This morning they came around delivering Christmas cards - hope they are not staying for Christmas dinner. :-) -- Regards, Harry (M1BYT) (L) http://www.ukradioamateur.co.uk |

If you have an internal meter and want it moved outside now is the time to do it as they will do it for free.

It's entirely possible that some newsreaders are failing to thread correctly, making TD's post look like the first. There wasn't any quoted text in TD's reply, either, making it look like just a bit of a strange original. |

Given this is being done after the build and for free, blutack it is. But even when installed as neatly as possible they still stick out like a sore thumb. And who reading this can't do their own meter readings? -- *Kill one man and you're a murderer, kill a million youand 're a conqueror. Dave Plowman London SW To e-mail, change noise into sound. |

When I lived in Michigan, USA, the meter wasn't in a box, it was just screwed to the wall, and so was only about 3/4 inch deep, and quite unobtrusive. And they have real weather there, watch the news right now. -- Davey. |
