Default Condensing Combis - Reliable? Worth the extra money?

Looking at getting my old conventional boiler replaced with a combi.
Had a few quotes, some people saying that they would never fit a
condensing combi, as they are unreliable, others saying that they are
the best thing since sliced bread. Who do I believe?

I know the company that do not recommend them are getting kick backs
from their favored supplier, so have reason not to believe their speil.

The other company that quoted, reccomeneded a Bosch 28Kw Condensing, but
could fit a non-condensing if I wanted.

Are condensing boilers any less reliable than non-condensing?

Are Bosch boilers any good?

Thanks for any advice.

Condensing is good. 1st generation condensors were dogs designed to have the
burner assembly position under the dripping acid. The problems have since
been ironed out.

A modern condensing boiler is very similar to a modern non-condensing type
in design and construction. There are only a couple of minor differences
consisting of a larger, more efficient heat exchanger, a condensate drain
and different programming of the onboard computer.

Are Bosch boilers any good?

I'm hoping the Worcester Bosch Greenstar is a good boiler, as I've just
bought one.

Christian.

I finished fitting my Baxi condensing combi 130HE in August, also with
16L/min flow rate. So far it has been excellent, more expensive to buy but
because of the added economy I feel justified in wacking the heating up when
it gets cold.

Got the Baxi Intellistat as well which ensures heating comes on at the right
times and maintains steady temperature..

Regards

Earl
