Default Surface Dressing

The main street through the village has been dressed this morning.
One machine went through laying tarred chips (not just tar), followed
by another laying just chips. These were followed by a roller doing
three or four passes. That's it . Will they return with a sweeper? If
so, how long before that happens. I always though dressing was tar
then chips, this is closer to tarmac but not quite.
