break and he wants some other lucky person to have to deal with it.

Oo you cynic you. ;-). You could well be right though.

That's religion for you.

I thought popes were like old hoofers (Brucie, etc) - die in harness.

In the past they died in office; but in the past life expectancy for
everyone was much shorter, so it was unlikely that an ailing pope would
linger for long. Now, senility and general debilitation is likely to be
a problem long before expiry.

They mostly are, but like with the royals changing on that, this pope has
too.

Rubbish! They've had them forever. They had odd ways of referring to
them, though, in those days:

Blessed are the pacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.

I'm extremely saddened by this bombshell event. However, I look forward to
the white smoke, signifying that some other stupid ******* is prepared to
"stand-in" for Jesus. What complete and utter ********. I had a bible
puncher hit the front door this week, just a kid. WTF gets into these

No, no, no

you invite them in then lock the front door

this can be real fun if you have a spare half an hour before sunday
lunch

Me - what are you selling?
Him - nothing, just trying to provide some information regarding our lord
Me - No thanks, pal
Him - You're not interested?
Me - Not in the slightest.

******.

We have a bunch of lunatic Jehovas Witnesses (SP, anyone give a ****?)
living opposite. Our pooch went and piddled on their front garden (good
boy), out she came spouting verbal garbage, I said sorry, what did you say?
I got - YOU HEARD WHAT I SAID. She can now go **** herself, permanently.
Stupid bint.

As a child I lived opposite a couple where she was a JW and he wasn't.
It was slightly odd, as the kids played out with us, but couldn't come
to birthday parties. She used to have a group of JWs round for regular
prayer meetings or whatever. We found it quite good living opposite
them, as we almost never got random JWs knocking at the door.

My father-in-law (a staunch Roman Catholic) invited them in (they looked
shocked that anyone would do so) and then spent half an hour or so
asking them pertinent religious questions and leaving them very lost and
confused.

I did a similar thing, but on the doorstep - not seen any since (in about 8
- 10 years), which is a pity 'cos one of them was a very lovely brown lass
(pity about the 'religion').

Good-looking women are maybe especially likely to think "surely not in
vain / My substance from the common earth was ta'en", and will be
attracted to someone who tells them how to live forever?

We had a reasonably good looking JW working in our department once.

After a couple of years we'd converted her away from the faith, and she
married a gentile.
