Default Why did my lighting circuit trip?

My lighting circuit tripped off tonight. The only lights switched on at the
time were two ceiling units, each fitted with three 40W R50 spots, both of
which were dimmed to about half illumination. This installation has been in
place for some ten years and this has never happened before.

What might have caused it? Should I be concerned?

Many thanks.
