Morning all
EDIT This problem has been resolved. Could anyone help a complete novice out with a problem he's having with the above boiler? Bled the radiator in the bedroom and now the pressure gauge on the boiler is reading 0 bar and doesn't want to fire up. No central heating or hot water but when the water / heating is turned on there is hum from the device which may or may not be the fan and when the hot taps are turned on it sounds like it should fire but doesn't. Any help would be appreciated Simon Last edited by simonw91 : November 12th 12 at 10:56 AM |

There should be a tap and a link pipe that you can turn on somewhere..may need reconnecting. -- Ineptocracy (in-ep-toc-ra-cy) €“ a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers. |

Any help would be appreciated The system needs repressurising, as bleeding the air out of the radiators has reduced the pressure below the safe limit set by the maker. The problem may be that the air was in the expansion vessel and has now migrated into the heating system through a ruptured diaphragm. This means the expansion vessel has failed. Someone will no doubt have all the details to hand. Or, if he's not confident about identifying the various bits, it's about due for a service by a qualified guy anyway... -- Tciao for Now! John. |

And don't be tempted to leave it open; there should be a pressure gauge or possibly a digital display on the boiler. Pressurise it to just over the minimum (because the pressure will also rise as it heats up, and you don't want to lift the relief valve). -- For every complex problem, there is a solution which is simple, neat, and wrong.
