This own brand stuff is apalling. Expanding foam does not expand. Tech services wont reply. Losing the plot with this brand.

I don't buy brands, I buy from companies. I hate the whole concept of
'brand', it just leads to the nonsense of something costing more
simply because there's a label stuck on it.

It's very rarely now that any 'brand' is actually manufactured by one
company in one place, it's just a marketing exercise.

That is a neat trick, making expanding foam that does not expand. Surely the
chemistry of the foam has to make gas and hence expand as it hardens.

No, the foam needs moisture to harden.
If it hasn't expanded the gas has leaked from the container.

I once had a can of shaving foam that had leaked its gas.

JCB Batteries - there is an odd one. And Panasonic Batteries.

I once saw a couple looking at a Polaroid TV in a supermarket and the
husband said that it would be good as they make good cameras!!!!

The whole badging thing is annoying - Even good reputable companies will
use goods made by lower tier manufacturers and badge them as their own.

With good specifications, drawings, and proper manufacturing engineering
and quality assurance processes then it shouldn't matter where an item is
made.

Many people years ago would not have bought a typical British car - but
since Honda, Nissan and Toyota have imported their Manufacturing
Engineering int the country then there should be nothing to choose between
the cars based on where they are made.

Diall is a budget branded item and is sold as such.

hard to find in domestic goods. Buying used at least weeds out some of the failed junk, but not enough.

Panasonic (Matsu****a) really do make their own batteries. Not only
that, but they are probably one of the best quality manufacturers
out there.

They have to have batteries to power those diggers.

Brand is mostly immaterial when it comes to (primary cell) batteries.

Jethro's original posting on Homeownershub was in 2012, but Maria's posting
isn't shown there. Strange.
