Wood preservative for "log cabin"
Just ordered a "log cabin" for the garden, i.e. a heavy duty summerhouse
/ shed in 28 mm softwood. The floor bearers come pressure treated, but what treatment would the assembled company apply to the rest of the timber? Presumably solvent based rather than cheap water based "fence" treatment? Would you do the "edges" before assembling? Use preserver inside and out, or just outside, with paint inside? I'm inclined to think some type of cuprinol outside, one of the microporous paints inside. Just for casual use in the better weather, not a "home office". TIA -- For every complex problem, there is a solution which is simple, neat, and wrong. H L Menken |

The key is top get any wood OFF the ground and have an air gap underneath TIA -- Ineptocracy (in-ep-toc-ra-cy) €“ a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers. |
