Weird one.
I would have suspected joist ends rotted but it says concrete.

Why would there be a void under a 1930s concrete floor?
The whole floor gone down too, not just part.

They must have weakened it in some way doing renovations. Can't
imagine what.

Ah got it! Undermined by perishing badgers.
