Default OT - half heat option on electric shower

Our electric shower (in common with all the others I can remember) has three
settings - cold, half heat, full heat.

I use the cold to cool the shower down before turning off.
I use the full heat to shower.
Unless I wanted a tepid shower at a slow flow rate, why would I need the
half heat?

Half power, minimum flow, cheapskate shower using less water and power?

Does anyone use this half heat option?

Cheers

Dave R

Yes, but only because only half the element works. 10.4kW shower so I
suppose it's 5.2kW.

I suppose this arrangement does at least give you a warning that a
replacement is required before leaving you with no heat at all.

I have to use it because the power cable to the shower won't take the
current required for full heat without blowing the fuse. I must get around
to replacing it.

Yes, in summer sometimes. Tepid at full flow.
