smoothing render
my efforts to patch render leave a lot to be desired,i have got it on
ok but now i need to smooth bits of it and blend the edges in better before i sandtex it.what is the best tool to use,i have an angle grinder so should i get an attachment for it that will do the job,as always thanks for your advice |

They come in the Pollyfilla tubs of you can buy them separately. To get it smooth, use a wet paintbrush or, better still, wetted with water/PVA glue mix (before it's gone off of course). Bigger the brush the better. |

Bigger the brush the better. Do you want it smooth though? I think the norm is to rub it with a sponge in a circular motion, but obviously the timing of that operation is critical. Anyway, in this case it sounds like the render has already gone off, so a grinder is the best bet. A coarse sanding disc might be enough to feather the edges without gouging the surface. |

Then a wet paintbrush will get rid of those. Once its set, forget it, it'll be 100x harder. NT |
