Default Mortar to use for repointing gritstone wall

I need to repoint part of an exterior gritstone wall (Victorian house
built 1900). What is the 'correct' mortar to use?

Assuming its not listed, 3 parts sand to 1 part builder's lime. If it
is, you might need to match the existing more precisely in some cases.

Also dont remove all existing pointing mortar regardless, only remove
what needs to be removed.
