Default Combi Boiler

I intend to replace my old Mexico gas boiler with something more
modern. Just had a guy in who told me that building control will not
approve the instalation of anything but a condensing boiler because of
it's energy rating. Any boiler must be 'A' rated. Is this salesman's
patter??

There are some (rare) exceptions, but basically the salesman is correct

Buy a Broag Avantaplus 39C and use the weather compensation option. You
will not be disappointed.

We have not had a boiler of the month promotion from DD for a while

Where is the free holiday this year? Or has the credit crunch reduced it
to a free fleece complete with makers logo?

He'll need several of those to keep warm if he installed his own heating
system.

I would steer clear of people coming in to your home to try and sell
you a boiler. Your best bet is to get a corgi plumber to give you a
free quote for installation (anyone not willing to quote - avoid). To
save you money, ask the plumber if you can buy the boiler yourself and
whether he'll fit it for labour costs. Check what boiler you need -
only a Corgi plumber can confirm whether your heating system would be
too costly to reconfigure for a combi system.

If you need an A-rated system boiler, then consider the Ariston Aco
boilers as they're a great buy from an excellent brand:
http://www.tradeplumbing.co.uk/Sedbu..._c_1600-1.html

If you need an A-rated combi boiler, then may I recommend the Ariston
Clas boilers: http://www.tradeplumbing.co.uk/Sedbu..._c_1599-1.html

I honestly don't get a kick-back for promoting Ariston boilers - we're
just very conscious of the fact that people haven't got a great deal
to spend at the moment and these are a great buy.

Worth a thought.

Few "plumbers" will fit supplied equipment, unless they are short of work,
as they get a markup on the equipment, aslso if somthing is wrong they deal
direct with supplier too. Good "heating fitters" are never short of work.

That is tripe. All he has to do is put his case here and I will guide him -
for free.

If he needs an A grade boiler he is better off buying a well price quality
Broag combi.
http://www.avantaplus.co.uk
The best price/performance quality boiler on the market. The best value
cheap boilers are probably the ECA and Heatline (made from quality
components assembled in Turkey)

£943.21 for the 30kW model.
An Avantaplus 39C is 39kW with a higher DHW flowrate, much superior quality
and OpenTherm control system with integrated weather compensation. And is
£917 inc VAT.
They both use the Giannoni heat excnager. No contest!!!
