aircrete block laying - block offset
When laying aircrete blocks in stretcher bond, is it generally
required (or good practice) that the perps are offset by half a block, or is 100mm offset (the thickness of a block) enough (such as you would get when building away from a corner using only whole blocks) ? Most of the blockwork I have seen after particularly thinking about this, they seem to add an extra piece of block, such that most of the wall has perps in the middle of the blocks above and below. Is this important (i.e. it may be part of the strength properties of an aircrete wall etc) ? Thanks, Simon. |
