Default Red standard lamp

SWMBO would like a red standard lamp.

It's easy to find a standard lamp with a white or buff shade.
Could that be painted?
With fireproof paint?
Or covered with fireproof paper?
Or cloth?
Or Solarfilm heat-shrink covering?

What's a good way of doing it?

yes, if you dont mind it looking like crap

With fireproof paint?
Or covered with fireproof paper?
Or cloth?

both yes, but low light transmission so it wont be good

Or Solarfilm heat-shrink covering?

lining it with the cheaper type off plastic lighting gel would work,
but best to just buy a red lampshade. If you can find what you want,
strip the cloth/paper off the old one and redo it using some very thin
high light transmission cloth, the sort of thing used for linings etc.
Paper works too but has poor light transmission, giving a poor
lighting pattern. Nylon has highest light transmission and diffusion.
