Default washing machine problem

hello, and apologies if this is not the right group to ask for help
in!

i have a tricity bendix AW 1001 W, washing machine, today it stopped
draining and spinning, i have cleaned the detergent drawer and
followed the procedure for "emergency emptying out" as per the
instruction book, it also seems to be making a "whirring" noise when i
select the drain or spin cycle, this machine was purchased in May
2006.

any ideas/solutions appreciated

Wirring noise is possibly the pump operating correctly but you said it
did not drain? Check & clean out filter or did you mean it did not spin?
Does it agitate in the wash cycle? If not suspect main motor brushes
(1st) or motor controller (2nd)

Water level switch can cause problem both with wash and spin/drain cycle
on some machines. Check the pipe to the level sensor is not blocked.

Bob

just shoved a garden hose up the outlet hose and tried again, drain
just kicked in, then spin! have it on the hottest wash cycle now (with
no laundry) and some washing powder and its spinning and foaming like
a mad thing,

hopefully the garden hose dislodged some blockage
