Replacement Gas Fire
The Gas Fitter has removed our 20 year old Parkinson Cowan Windsor outset
gas fire and left us to chose a replacement. The problem is that the fireplace opening measures only 500mm (h) x 255m (w) and we can't find any fires to fit into this small an opening. Have looked at various outset fires (e.g. Valor Black Beauty) but all seem to need a larger minimum opening to dischrge into (per the fitting instructions). Does anyone have any suggestions please? It's a pre-fabricated flue and we are not fussed about whether the fire is inset or outset. In fact we are only replacing it because we want to sell the house and the Windsor was so dated, so we don't really want to spend money making the hole bigger and re-building / replacing the firplace. Of course one alternative would be to stand an electric fire in front of the recess! Many thanks. Marty |
