Door latch offset
I went to replace a worn out door-latch today and hoped to be able to buy
one with the same offset so that I wouldn't have to move the handles, drill new holes in the doors etc. but found (needless to say) that mine seem to be made to a redundant standard. Measured from the surface of the flange that the bolt comes through back to the centre for the handle seems to be 2 and a quarter inches. Can you still get latches with this offset? Where's the best on-line retailer for this kind of stuff? Tim |
