Hi all,
The heating element in my Bosch fan oven (model HBN7020GB/01) appears to have gone and, foolishly, I thought it would take about 5mins to replace (or at least take out and test), however... Getting to the element is no problem - from inside the oven I simply undid the four screws holding the fan cover to the back of the oven and hey presto there was the fan and the element surrounding it (it's a semi-circular element). The element itself is held in place by a pair of screws at either end (which I removed without problem) plus a clip in the centre. The problem is this central clip - the screw holding it to the back of the oven is hidden by the fan. Simple, I thought; remove the fan to get to it...but no...there's a reverse threaded nut holding the fan in place but even with this removed it won't budge. Does anybody know if I need to pull the oven out and attack it from the rear? Or do I just need to use a bit of brute force and ignorance? I don't really want to risk completely knackering the thing as the top, non-fan, oven is still working and the wife will kill me if that stops working too! I tried calling the Bosch 'help' line but their only response was 'we can't tell you that, you need to call out a service engineer'. Any more useful help or advice gratefully received. Mark. |
