My bath has a round knob on the overflow which you rotate to raise the plug.

Michael Chare Brute force if no screw is apparent. Mine pushes on easily but only my oldest son can remove it once it's been on for a while. ( There's usually a hole in the underside. Either an allan key or a philips screw in the hole - loosen then pull off. A |
