After reading some articles on the effects of fitting TRV's to
radiators where it may increase the return water temperature to
condensing oil boilers and thus reduce efficiency of the boiler when
all valves are closed, What can i do to control the return water
temperature to the boiler if these valves are fitted to my system? If i
fit a mixing valve will this help to maintan the return flow
temperature to around 55 C into the boiler and achive the magic
condensing mode with better efficiency results when all the valves are
closed, or do i fit a bypass valve in some configuration to control
this? Or is it all waste of time fitting TRVs as you boiler efficiency
and this would conter act any gains you made by controlling room
temperature in the first place. please what is the best way to plumb
this system to maximise efficiency? The system will be three zones .
Upstairs standard radiators fitted with TRVs maybe... downstairs solo
convector radiators andthe 3rd zome DHW all heated by grant vortex
condensing boiler.
