Default aerated blocks for load bearing walls?

Just wondering,
I am about to complete the inner leaf of an external wall (load
bearing) and thinking of using aerated blocks instead of bricks or high
density concrete blocks. The external leaf is made of traditional
imperial size bricks.
The inner leaf has to support the floor-joists of a medium size room
(the roof above is supported by the external leaf).
The basic idea is to use joist hangers rather than having the joist sit
on top of the blocks. Furthermore, the joist hangers should sit on top
of a couple of rows of engineering bricks (for structural reasons).

Any comments appreciated,

Thanks
Alex

If your concern is 'will the blocks support the floor' then the answer is a
definite yes. Normal aircrete (as opposed to high, 7n strength) is more
than adequate for a 2 storey dwelling, indeed, most traditionally built
houses have an inner leaf of aircrete.
