Default vaillant turbo max vuw 242

i have the above boiler and recently i'm having a few problems with it.
firstly, there was no hot water when the taps were opened.
i managed to fix this by sticking a bit of paper under the metal bit that pushes the switch on. seems like the switch is worn or the valve is not opening enough to push the switch. how do i know if the valve isn't opening or if the switch is worn.

secondly, the hot water isn't hot enough. i've adjusted the flow rate but still it's not as hot on full blast.

i've read the manual it seems a bit confusing.

Try a new water flow diapragm - less than a tenner but quite tricky to fit.
The microswitch can be tested with multimeter.

With difficulty.
Directly under the diverter valve.
Yes.
