Default Hoover 1100 Flashing Leds!

I have a New Wave 1100 autowasher, pretty old. I'ts been fine but just
now it's stopped with all the red leds over the buttons flashing and
'0' on the display.

I can't get it out of this state, clothes are pretty wet and there is
water in the drum so I suspect it's not finished the cycle and indeed,
there is powder residue on the clothes.

Powering off and unplugging the mains has no effect, the state is 'remembered'.

Of course this couldn't have come at a worse time financially!

Cheers

Steve
