I am about to cover some copper pipe covered in denso tape with bonding coat before I finish off a new shower enclosure. The pipe is cut into the wall and runs from the shower mixer valve outlet to the shower itself.
Having only done half a job and not covered the pipe yet I've noticed that some of the bonding coat that has dried and is touching the pipe run has absorbed some of the denso tape coating (whatever it is) and is softish to the touch. When I fully cover the pipe ( 3cm depth) is this absorbtion going to continue and weaken the bonding coat? I am now thinking that I've stuffed up and should run the section again and use other pipe protection as denso is not suitable as I previously thought. |
