Default installing Under Counter Oven

I am installing an under counter double oven. Is it acceptable to
earth the unit to the gas pipe?
Can I earthe the gas hob to the gas pipe also?
The nearest other potential earth point is the sink which is fedby
plastic type pipes.
Thanks
Dave

As I understand it, you have to bond the gas pipe to the main earthing
terminal in or near your Consumer Unit, using a seperate cable. Your oven
should be connected to your consumer unit with three core cable, one of them
being earth - does the oven have a plug on the end, or is it hard wired?

Can I earth the gas hob to the gas pipe also?

Is this hob plugged into a standard socket (for the ingiter)? if so, this
should be providing all the earth it needs.

Assuming this isn't a troll - NO! The earthing of the double oven
should be to the earth conductor (CPC) of the cable feeding it. No
'bonding' to other metalwork in the kitchen is required by the
regulations.

The cable feeding the oven space only has two wires ( no earth). hence
my concern about finding an alternative earth.
THe gas hob needs to be wired up .
Its in a new house, which i moved into last week.
thanks

I got the oven and gas hob installed. There was an integral earth
conductor as part of the supply to the oven space, which I didn't see
straight off.
Thanks a lot for your help
