The only effective means of patrol is by air. A 58D costs upwards of five grand an hour to keep in the air. Is it worth it? It takes a special kind of stupid to sneak onto a live fire range. And... there is a fence around many of the desert ranges. It's six inches high- put there to protect the desert tortise.
