Default Sheldon Machine Co. lathe

Hello,

I also recently inherited an old Sheldon lathe (Cat. # ws56p)and am
looking for information regarding getting it up and
running-proper lubrication (especially motor and bearings).
Does anyone have any tips (or warnings)on refurbishing/ lubrication of
this old machine?

Thanks,
Dave

Above listed is the group that specializes in the information you asked for.
There was a thread on lubricating just recently.

http://www.lathes.co.uk/sheldon/page5.html

The above site has a good bit of information about what the different lathes
were and what all the different models were.

For parts search on this newsgroup in google for 'sheldon' and 'parts'.
You should get a listing for National Acme. Don't know if
they are still around though.
