Default drop box probs...

Anyone have any words of wisdom as to using the dropbox from a mac
running OSX? I've reduced my pictures in resolution, named them
correctly in sequence, and attached them to an email to the dropbox
along with a straight text file attachment. No luck. I may have erred
in the subject of the email, what should the subject be? Does it matter?

Thanks if you've got a moment, Charles Morrill

The subject does not matter.

What you have done *should* work -- as long as it is
attachments, not "inline".

Is it possible that your system is using uuencoding for the
attachment instead of base64? Since OS-X is unix based, that may be
what is happening, depending on what e-mail program you are using. I
don't know whether Steve's programs can handle uuencoding.

Also -- what was the name you were giving to the files? If you
haven't gotten an error return, it may be that they are simply awaiting
steve's attention. He has had to automatically sideline a lot of what
comes in until he can look at it, thanks to virii and spam winding up
there. (A lot of spam these days puts the actual message in a .gif
attachment, so the words in it escape the filtering.)

Since you are posting from a yahoo account, bear in mind that a
*lot* of spam is forged to appear to come from yahoo (a lot more than
actually does come from there), and this might be a reason for
sidelining it automatically until Steve can look at it.

How long have you given it to show up?

Good Luck,
DoN.

Thanks Gunner, Don,
I called up Steve Stallings. Turns out that the dropbox spambot
discarded my stuff as spam for some reason. I re-emailed them to him
and he's working at posting them. When they show up I'll post a message
here. My email program is also not using mime though Steve does not
think that's the problem.

Thanks, Charles Morrill
