Default Bayonet Based Bulbs?

Does the word "bayonet" as used in describing things like bayonet based
light bulbs or "push and turn" electrical connectors have its origin in
the way some bayonets attached to rifles?

That's all I can think it might be.

Thanks guys,

Jeff

Make your own mind up on that, Jeff.

If yours is like mine, it is a captive bayonet mounted to the
weapon. It folds into the fore grip or out and slips over the barrel
with hefty spring tension holding it in place.

Enjoy,

I picked up a dozen of these guys ($2ea) and found they're quite a bit
of fun to throw, too.

And you can simply drill a hole in a Ash or hickory (sp) shaft/dowel
and make a decent spear out of it.
