The 2a hasn't been used to fight a foreign army using a well regulated
militia (or otherwise) since the British / Canadians drove back the
despicable Hun under President James Madison (War of 1812) and torched the
White House in retaliation for the sacking of York (Toronto).

Since then, the 2A has been used to kill fellow Americans.

50,000 British Regulars whose army was also involved in a battle in
Europe, 200,000 Canadians, Indians.

Versus 1,000,000 Americans. whose President wanted to Annex Canada.

They failed.

However, if it had happend following the Civil War, the USA would have
had standing armies and kicked our butts.
