I use a lot of AR400 and it is much denser. I thought it was heavy but when I got some AR500F in 3/8" thick it cuts like 1/2" AR400 and weighs about that much more. It is restricted so Quality sheets showing alloy percentages were not allowed. A .223 rifle bullet at 25 yards just dimples a tiny spot and powders and sheds the bullet. The targets were made for the men in black and white. Two different teams. It would be cutting OK, all of a sudden a spark and there goes the tool bit. It seemed to have hard parts in the steel, might make a poor man's Damascus (hard and softer steel combined). RogerN |
