Isn't it fascinating that every time Conservatives are accused ofbeing racists, their instinctive reaction is to refer to history books (theolder, the better)?
He IS turning in his grave. The Republicans were the progressive force during that time vs the conservative Democrats. (JW Booth was a Democrat). Today the picture is a complete 180 and then some.
Lincoln was a Federalist, a humanist -- all the things the ignorant despise. Today, it's he Republicans setting us back. |
