Default participate in study on career issues

Hi everyone,

I am a doctoral student at Auburn University and am offering
participation in an online research study related to career and
occupational issues. For each completed survey I receive, I will
donate $2 to The Humane Society of the United States. It generally
takes 15-20 minutes (possibly up to 30), and you must be between the
ages of 19 and 25 to participate.

If you may be interested in participating, please click the following
link to an information letter. From there, you can click the “next”
button at the bottom to take the survey.
https://auburn.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_3t3UtZTrORXpsSE

Also, if you know others who may be interested, please pass along this
information and survey link. Thank you for your time!

She appears to not understand the meaning of the "rec." in the
newsgroup name.

Among other things, it means that most of us here are well over
the age range specified, and many of us are well into retirement. :-)

I'm not sure that I know that many who fit your age
restrictions.

Better Luck in the other newsgroups you have probably hit -- and
hopefully a lot outside the "rec." heirarchy. :-)

Don't mistake The Humane Society of the United States with your local
animal shelter or adoption agency:

It means people who are doing things as a hobby -- which tends
to favor the older part of the population, who no longer have to work
full time at a job. Not all, of course, but many here.

I try to stay out of the political side, which I consider wasted
bandwidth here. (If nothing else, the time wasted weeding out what you
don't want to read -- or the time spent tuning filters to do it for you. :-)

Enjoy,
DoN.

Yeah, well, ours is an old man's hobby, too.

One wonders what the "old man hobby" of our idiot yout' will be.....
Fuuuuck, these assholes don't even want to CLICK anymore.....

Ahm thinkin mebbe their hobby will be rockin back and forth on a cushion,
spinning some wooden dervish on a string, like the ole Greenwich Village
jewelry store idiot, drooling and muttering, Me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me,
me.....

Mebbe the more alert ones will have accrued, like, a 1,000 pc wardrobe, and
will just change clothes/styles all day in a full-length mirror,
Gaga-esque.....

And because of fuknTechnology, they'll be doing this 'til they're 150 g-d
years old..... LOL!!!!!!

But indeed, there do seem to be a lot of oldsters around here... and

And just what do YOU think about while turning handles and cranks? I
seem NOT to think about women as much as I did when I was young enough
to take this survey although I still have the potential to be a GREAT
"Dirty Old Man".

I certainly don't think about politics. Mostly, I think about
whether I can sneak up on the dimension properly, or whether I'll
overshoot. :-) Also, I think about how it will interact with other parts
of whatever I'm making, and perhaps I'm making mental modifications to
the next part to make it easier to make or easier to use.

Thinking too much about women when running a machine tool is
more likely to lead to a painful (or maybe even fatal) mistake. :-)

Enjoy,
DoN.
