You apparently don't know how to read a map. It is the blue areas on
the map that once were occupied by Mexico or are Mexico today. Even
states like Louisiana are defined with borders on this map. Thanks

He wrote ""much of the U.S." not "most of the U.S."

The map indicates this is correct.
