America is great, is it? Funny thing is you didn't hear people in the
1930s going around saying that? You only hear that from right wingers or
rich people nowadays. Most people these days say America isn't so great
or it sucks. The truth is the "America is great" line is a myth. It was
never great here for most of the people who lived in this country.
Millions of people had lives that just plain sucked. Look at the
photographs of this country pre WWII. It looked like a third world
country in most of it.

The only time America was great was right after WWII until the end of
the 1960s. After that it's just gone down, down, down, for most people.
But just keep saying how great this country is and don't let any facts
get in your way. That's how most people seem to operate so it doesn't
matter what really is. All that matters is what we say is. At least that
works for the right wingers.
