That way is to not have any earned income. FICA is not collected on unearned income, including interest on savings deposits, stock dividends, and capital gains such as profits from the sale of stock or real estate. If all your money comes from stocks and other investments, you need not pay anything into Social Security. Paul K. Dickman |
