In my opinion those that are opposed to these programs do not take
advantage of them. They just try to recoup some of what they have
lost by having to be in the programs.

Dan, these people don't believe in having these programs for anyone.
That belief is based on the idea that you take care of yourself.
Conservatives think it's your responsibility to provide for your own
retirement and they think they are better able to make a living than
others can. It's a kind of conceit. They think they will earn lots of
money and won't need help from the government when they are old. Their
whole life is based on the belief that you can take care of yourself and
that the government should stay out of helping people in their retirement.

Don't you think it's hypocritical for someone who thinks like that to
turn around and take from the government when all along they have tried
to destroy or dismantle those programs? They foolishly thought they
would never need those programs. How wrong they were indeed.

Those who take from the government after trying to stop those programs
all their lives are not doing it to recoup funds they paid in. They're
doing it because they need the help. They never thought it would be them
who couldn't provide for themselves. They always thought it was the
inferior people who wouldn't be able to care for themselves. The fact is
these people were wrong all their lives and only in old age actually
discovered the error of their ways. Unfortunately, instead of coming out
and publicly admitting their previous thinking was wrong, they try to
surreptitiously join the programs that they learned they really did need
to live. Which only adds cowardice to their list of shortcomings.

I think that what you are saying is they conservatives believe that
they can take care of themselves while the left hand folks believe
that they are unable to fend for themselves and need someone else to
take care of them.

Conservatives mistakenly think they can provide for themselves, that's
true. They are a conceited and cocky bunch. The fact is most of them
can't when the game is over. Without Social Security most conservatives
would not be able to support themselves. That's a fact, Jack.

Liberals understand that we do better if we work as a team and have the
strong help the weak. Conservatives always like to thing they're the
strong but in reality they're no better than anyone else. All you have
to do is look at the numbers and you see conservatives don't do any
better than anyone else when to comes to paying for their retirement.
They're in the same boat as everybody else. In fact, look at the "red
states" they're filled with poor conservative people. They all need help.
