"starve to death on the streets"?

Have you seen the poor people? Only in America are the poor suffering an
obesity epidemic. It'd be really hard work to literally starve in this
country.

If you want to get people out of poverty, simply stop paying them to stay
in poverty.

It just goes to show the ignorance of some about the US.

No, it shows yours. Cheap foods are full of calories, and not much
else.

Food stamps don't work for fast food, or any food that's already prepared.

But with food stamps, you can get all the twinkies, spray cheese, chocolate,
and soda pop that you can carry.

Of course, weaning people off welfare is a difficult proposition when there
aren't any jobs, which there aren't, thanks to the liberals.

Thanks,
Rich

I see a lot of them with carts loaded down with the cheapest food in
the store. What you listed isn't cheap.

Have you ever looked at the laws? As soon as they try to work,
everything is cut off. They aren't given time to get on their feet, and
most of the jobs they are offered are minimum wage and part time.

The system is geared to keeping people down and for lots of bad reasons.
Gee, who benefits from keeping people on the "dole"?

Don't you know that the guy you are calling ignorant is an honest to god
right winger? You might want to take what you said back.

I can't believe I'm saying this but he's right. First of all to qualify
for anything you have to have almost nothing. Then if you find a way to
make any money at all they cut you off or down to nothing. Believe me,
you don't want to find out how lousy it is being on the public dole.
Those people are not living great lives despite what people on the right
think. And most of them are ignorant and have no idea what proper diet
and nutrition is about. They wouldn't even know that a McDonald's
hamburger with fries and an ice cream sundae for desert is bad food.
