Maybe some people should stop posting like they just finished watching a gangster movie. The "agreement" was the ceasefire after we'd kicked him out of Kuwait. If we'd continued to Baghdad like we should have, Saddam's necktie party would have been a lot earlier and he would have had a lot less time to kill his own people. Shiites. Kurds. And, of course, no need to return in 2003. David |

You probably worried about them all of your life, you being such a humanitarian. Funny how you think it takes so little to justify our invading other countries. I guess it costs you nothing. Maybe if you had to do some of the heavy lifting every time we attacked some other country you might not be so quick to want to start a war. Did you have to kill any Iraqis personally? I didn't think so. No wonder you're so quick to send in the troops. Hawke |

The UN imposed a series of sanctions, SH violated them repeatedly, so the countries not making money with illegal deals with SH went in to finish what Desert Storm should have. I'll agree that taking down the Iraqi govt without considering the resultant chaos hasn't worked out. Too bad the Pentagon wouldn't listen to the State Dept. I'm surprised to read that you have no sympathy for what the Iraqis suffered at the hands of SH and his crew. Especially his sons. I do and did at the time. David |
