A more liberal Supreme Court is coming...along with an assaultban

You are the one that overlooks the critical point, which is more Americans voted for Al Gore for president than for Bush. No sane system puts the loser of the popular vote in office. So many irregularities took place in Florida that the election was not valid. It should have been done over. It was decided by right wing activist justices who violated their own stated standards so they could put in the candidate they wanted. You call that a fair election. I don't. The will of the majority was thwarted by the republicans. But that's okay. We're making up for it now. And it is a matter of opinion that Bush sucked as president. But for your information the only people who don't think he sucked are people who voted for him. Everyone else in the world knows he did a really ****ty job. But you thought he was a good one. That just goes to show how little you know. Hawke I don't think that either the Dems or Reps wanted a a do over since the race was so close, and for the same reason, neither wanted a full recount. The Dems wanted to recount only some areas, which would violate Florida state election law. This is basically what the SCOTUS pointed out, they were only requiring that the election proceed legally. David Because the election was so close and because there were so many improprieties the only fair way to decide the election was to have a do over. True that neither side wanted to chance that but that would have been the fair thing to do. As it was that election will be forever tainted and seen in history as the country having elected a man the majority of Americans didn't want to be president. There is something really wrong for that to happen in a supposed democracy. Hawke |
