OT-Shipping Washers
The Pentagon spent $998,798 shipping two 19-cent washers from South Carolina

In this case (old news from from 2007) it was an attempt by a supplier to defraud by exploiting an automatic expediting procedure to get parts to the war zone. The scheme was discovered by the pentagon, the perpetrators were caught, plead guilty and their property auctioned off to recoup most of the stolen amount. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?p...d=aY5OQ5xv9HR8 |
