Default Vibration analysis

I've spent part of two days with a gent from a spindle supplier that is helping us correct
vibration issues with our test cells.

What I've learned so far is this guy seems to know what he is doing and the local firm
that was doing the balancing let go of the guy that knew what he was doing.

So, I am interested atm on learning about the basics of ballancing spindles.

Also what is the price range of equipment for doing this? The gent is using an IRD device
that is rather old, has one accelerometer, and a strobe that he uses some of the time.

Spindles are in the 3600 rpm range, driven by belt from a 75hp motor.

Thanks,

Wes
