If you look at the current crop of "actors and actresses" it is easy to
see why the trend is to remake the good older movies. NONE of them can
act! I can think of about three who have even a part of the talent many
of the old guard had.

Take someone like Orvon Gene Autry, He could sing, act, and actually
made you forget he was acting.
Or someone like Bob Hope who managed to transition from stage to radio
to film and to television.
