Hmm ... for whatever reason -- the original article is not
showing up here. I'll have to check my filters. (or did you post this
one from google groups before getting your new account?)

Anyway -- as always, posting from rec.crafts.metalworking.

1344) Looks to me like a typesetter's bench. Not sure what the
square holes are for.

1345) A solvent cleaning container. You either put the thing to be
cleaned on top of the screen, or a pad to soak up some solvent
and press down on the pan. This squirts the solvent (acetone in
my example) and a bit comes up through the screen to either
clean the workpiece or moisten the pad to carry solvent
elsewhere.

I first saw them in use at Transitron (an early semiconductor
manufacturer in the Boston Massachusetts area) back around 1960
IIRC.

1346) O.K. This was the one mentioned below -- and I did not have
a name for it anyway -- just figuring that it was an art piece.

1347) Showshoes for horses?

1348) Perhaps for opening and closing paint cans?

1349) A hand puller -- for a clock or a larger gauge, similar to
what I have for watch hands and dial indicator type gauges.

1350) A hobble for a horse.

Now to see what others have said. I've only seen the one below
so far.

Enjoy,
DoN.
