It's called "enabling" behavior and it's not a good thing. It beats watching the vast wasteland that TV became. Not to the rest of us, who feel it has about as much entertainment content as watching mud harden (or TV.) I dumped my DISH box last year and haven't regretted it in the slightest. I still rent movies, first at a buck a pop from RedBox, now at $12.99 a month for 2-at-a-time from NetFlix (16+ movies per month) I'm watching the Star Wars movies in sequence from the prequels on right now. Oh, episodes of the series 'NCIS' were hilarious and habit-forming, too. I'm on the third year's worth now. Without TV, I now finish more of my projects. My list is down to about phone-book thickness now. I also read a lot more now. Speaking of which, do you have loaner copies of an Ringo books? I missed _Kildar_, _Choosers of the Slain_, _Unto the Breach_, _Princess of Wands_, _A Hymn Before Battle_, _Gust Front_, _The Hero_, _Watch on the Rhine_, _The Road to Damascus_, and the _March_ series. Gee, now that I look at the list, my eBay bounty of 7 of his books is minimalist. g I'll pay MM shipping both ways if you're game. P.S: Got any of Drake's _Honor Harrington_ series? I read and thoroughly enjoyed her (and her treecat) in _On Basilisk Station_. -- The only difference between a rut and a grave...is in their dimensions. -- Ellen Glasglow |

Im sorta juggling 4 computers and 2 laptops at the moment, which is why my killfiles are ****ed up as well. Working out of an RV, then coming home on some weekends, and logging on via WIFI from laptops on the road..tis a bit confused at the moment. It's called "enabling" behavior and it's not a good thing. How do you "disrupt the forum" when there are multiple threads going on and you can pick and choose which ones to read, or ignore? The noise to signal ratio (unfortunately not the SNR) here is now 9:1. Replying to known trolls is like talking, receiving phone calls, and kicking the seat in front of you in the theater. It beats watching the vast wasteland that TV became. Not to the rest of us, who feel it has about as much entertainment content as watching mud harden (or TV.) Im sorta juggling 4 computers and 2 laptops at the moment, which is why my killfiles are ****ed up as well. I don't do ebooks, so thanks anyway. My eyes can't stand that much strain, even on the nice ViewSonic LCD screen I have now. I'm happily stuck on paperbacks. Working out of an RV, then coming home on some weekends, and logging on via WIFI from laptops on the road..tis a bit confused at the moment. Grok that.
