Rotary Table Suggestions
Customer has small parts to perform multiple functions on. Probably a total
of three steps. Load, drill, tap, unload. Okay... Four steps. G Any suggestions out there on brand, etc? Parts are less than 6" cube size and light weight. Parts are less than 6" cube size and light weight. Camco Unipak indexer. A number of them are on Ebay right now. Get the indexer control and the matching rotary table. they will index in 4 90' positions if required. Sticking a pneumatic collet closer on the rotary table will make things go faster when loading/unloading. For neatness sake, run everything off a cheap PLC with some Hall Effect Switches, or even microswitchs. http://cgi.ebay.com/CAMCO-CYCLING-DC-MOTOR-CONTROL-92A61633010000_W0QQitemZ120232414533QQihZ002QQcate goryZ71395QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/Camco-rotary-index-table-601RDM12H24-270-20-1-ratio_W0QQitemZ120231822320QQihZ002QQcategoryZ2622 7QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Regards, Joe Agro, Jr. (800) 871-5022 01.908.542.0244 Automatic / Pneumatic Drills: http://www.AutoDrill.com Multiple Spindle Drills: http://www.Multi-Drill.com V8013-R |

The one above makes 12 stops, in other words, it increments 30 degrees at a time. The RDMs are a good choice if your fixtures are going on a dial plate. There are also several mfrs of pneumatic indexing tables, but Festo is the only name I can recall right now. Thomas Register should turn up a few others. Not as smooth and sexy as a cam indexer, but cheaper, and usually adequate for low speed manual operations with low inertia loads. http://www.festo.com/Automation/Innovations2007/136.htm -- Ned Simmons |
